Walmart will officially replace historic drive-in

The days are numbered for a summertime staple for movie fans in the southern Twin Cities metro. The Cottage Grove City Council voted unanimously Wednesday in favor of Walmart's plan to build a new SuperCenter store, the South Washington County Bulletin reports. It will be built on the site of the Cottage View Drive-In. After nearly five decades in business, the movie theater will permanently close in October.

Walmart evacuated after violent threat

Employees and customers at the Walmart in Fergus Falls, Minn., were evacuated Saturday night after someone called the store and threatened to injure employees and customers, Fergus Falls Journal reports. Police officials say no one was taken hostage, there were no weapons or threats found and no one was injured.
