Want a seat? Here's the deal.

Author:

It's official. The Metropolitan Sports Facilities Authority published terms for the public to buy seats from the Metrodome through Albrecht Sign Company in Fridley.

General seats will cost $60 per seat plus tax and "special location" seats will cost $80 per seat plus tax. Non-profit organizations can buy seats for $40 apiece.

“Albrecht Signs has provided the opportunity for high schools, community groups, colleges to
purchase Metrodome seats at cost,” said Michele Kelm-Helgen, chair of the MSFA. “A number of Minnesota organizations wanted seats for new or old ball parks, and we wanted to be able to make them available."

Anyone who wants 200 or more seats had better hurry. They'll need final purchase agreements by Thursday. The deadline for single seat sales is Jan. 7.

Buyers must also schedule a time to pick up the seats at the Metrodome before Jan. 17.

People who contacted the MSFA about buying seats will hear from Albrecht Signs directly. Others can find out more on the company's Facebook page or website.

General manager Tony Manning said he has no idea how big the job will be.

“It’s a wild guess right now. I hope fans come out and buy as many as they want,” Manning said. “You can buy one seat, you can buy 5,000.”

Manning said the job could involve as many as 30,000 seats and take about 14 working days.
