On the anniversary of Camu Tao's death, Aesop Rock unveiled a heartfelt tribute in his latest video.

Definitive Jux underground veteran Camu Tao passed away on May 25, 2008. Longtime friend and labelmate Aesop Rock's tribute at the very first Soundset remains one of the most memorable moments in the festival's history, and nine years later Aes gives us a Camu tribute in video form, "Get Out the Car."

Usually one for colorful videos, "Get Out the Car" is strikingly black-and-white, adding further gravity and sadness to Aesop's words.

Illustrations by Coro add some visual resonance as Rob Shaw's direction pulls a stationary Aes further through the sketches that capture isolated moments and feelings.

Aes speaks of Camu's passing as an "emotional and narrative anchor in both this song and [his] life." He went on to explain how the name of his latest album The Impossible Kid comes from a line in "Get Out the Car," but instead of making it a title track, opted to use the more fitting closing line instead.
