Watch: Buxton's insanely fast inside-the-park homer

It took Buxton all of 14 seconds to round the bases.

If momentum can carry from one season to the next, the Twins are in for a treat because Byron Buxton is surging into the offseason.

After hitting his eighth home run of the season on Saturday, Buxton started Sunday's season finale in Chicago with a blazing fast inside-the-park home run. And according to MLB StatCast, Buxton did it in 14 seconds – the fastest time ever recorded on an inside-the-park homer. Someone might have done it faster considering Statcast has only been around for two years, but it's the record nonetheless.

Inside-the-park HR? On the first pitch of the game?#Game162 is great already.

Buxton was hitting in the leadoff spot because Brian Dozier was sitting out the game.
