Future's "Mask Off" might be the biggest song of 2017.
Off his self-titled album, "Mask Off" has organically grown to become the oft-quoted mainstay of hip-hop fans' conversations. The hip-hop innovator teased fans with a 20 second trailer for the song's forthcoming music video, and then got wild for the night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
While Anthony Anderson filled in for Kimmel on hosting duties, Future brought his first-string game. Beginning the song with a bevy of synchronized dancers and closing it with well-produced lighting effects, Future topped both his Soundset and Summer Sixteen sets in one song. The crowd was amped to chant Future's lyrics back at him as he offered some kinetic catharsis, with some further hints at the "Mask Off" visuals behind him.
Fans in attendance and online were also treated to a bonus performance of "Used to This" that had DJ Esco far too hype for network television. It's all to promote Future's Nobody's Safe Tour, which kicks off this week with Migos, Tory Lanez, A$AP Ferg, Zoey Dollaz, as well as select dates with Young Thug, and no dates with Kodak Black.
