Macklemore stopped by Ellen before the weekend to perform his powerfully poignant protest song "Wednesday Morning." The track, a detailed account of life after the most recent Presidential election, is a cathartic and inspiring, but highly personal take on marching forward in post-Trump times.

As serious as the Ryan Lewis-produced track is, Ellen herself added a fun bit of levity to her introduction. As she tells it, after urging Macklemore to perform the song on her show, he responded by saying he needs time to rehearse it. Ellen's following line gave us a hearty chuckle before Seattle's sunshine brought us back to that first day after the election.
