A man's attempt to evade police by climbing on top of a semitrailer has gone viral.

A video of the incident on Interstate 94 near Alexandria on Saturday was posted on Facebook by Jenny Anderson and has since been viewed more than half a million times.

It shows a man who crashed his car proceed to walk along the interstate, trying to flag down other cars. He was unsuccessful and when state troopers turned up, he tried to evade them by climbing on top of the semi, where he started waving his arms.

The truck pulled over to the side of the road where, according to Valley News Live, the man was arrested. He's expected to be charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

A Minnesota State Patrol spokeswoman told GoMN that the man was believed to have been under the influence of drugs. A sample of blood was taken from him after troopers obtained a warrant.

You can watch the video footage here – though be warned it contains some foul language.

We've reached out to the State Patrol for more information, and will update this story when we get a response.
