Amid all the serious grilling of Donald Trump's executive picks during their confirmation hearings, there was a lighter moment between Rick Perry and Minnesota Senator Al Franken on Thursday.

Perry, the former Governor of Texas who's Trump's nominee to run the energy department, made an inadvertent sexual innuendo as he prepared for a thorough grilling from Sen. Franken.

When Franken asked if Perry enjoyed meeting him, Perry replied: "I hope you’re as much fun on that dais as you were on that couch."

Cue peals of laughter from those at the confirmation hearing and a typically deadpan reaction from the former Saturday Night Live comedian after Perry asked to rephrase his response.

"I think we’ve found our ‘Saturday Night Live’ sound bite," Perry said. You can watch the funny exchange below.
