The big knockers were out at Target Field Tuesday night as the Twins smashed a ballpark record six home runs in a 9-1 blowout win over the Oakland Athletics.

You've probably already seen the bomb Miguel Sano hit into the restaurant area in the upper deck in center field. That sucker traveled an estimated 466 feet. Manager Paul Molitor said there's a “very, very small percentage of guys that can hit the ball like that.”

Brian Dozier homered to left and dead center for his third and fourth of the season. Remember, Dozier had only five home runs after two months last season before smashing eight in June, six in July, 13 in August and 10 in September.

The others to go yard against Oakland pitchers: Jason Castro, Byron Buxton and Joe Mauer.

Buxton is really starting to heat up. He has seven hits in his last eight games after starting the season with only four hits in the first 15 games. Even more encouraging are his seven walks and only three strikeouts in the last six games.

"I'm way more relaxed than the beginning of the season," Buxton said after the game, via Fox Sports North. "I think that's a big part of my teammates still believing in me and me going up there and just trusting the process and believing in myself – to go back to doing what I was doing and let the ball travel."

For the night, the Twins hit 2,514 feet worth of homers, the Twins say.
