A tornado devastated Outing, Minnesota, leaving 14 dead.

They were still searching for the dead a day after a tornado and violent wind storm struck the resort town of Outing in the Rosevelt Lake area of Cass County, roughly 160 miles north of the Twin Cities, on Aug. 6, 1969.

The twister smashed the Simmons resort to kindling, killing two vacationers and injuring 12, the Brainerd Daily Dispatch reported the following day. Across the lake, it ripped into three cabins at the Bethany Bible camp, killing seven.
