The Minnesota Vikings appear to be in big trouble.

A week after struggling on offense against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Vikings may as well have played with bags over their heads in a 20-10 Halloween loss in Chicago.

The offense was again dismal, punting on five straight possessions to start the game and seven of nine possessions overall.

Sam Bradford was 23-37 for 228 yards and a touchdown, but most of his yardage came with the Vikings trailing 20-3 in the fourth quarter. Bradford was sacked five times, largely in part due to another leaky performance by the offense line that also failed again to pave the way for any running game.

Jerick McKinnon missed the game with an ankle injury. Matt Asiata and Ronnie Hillman combined for just 57 rushing yards and 3.2 yards per carry.

Meanwhile, Jay Cutler, playing for the first time after missing five weeks with a thumb injury, finished 20-31 for 252 yards and a touchdown – and he was sacked just once by a Minnesota pass rush that has just five sacks over the last four games. They had 15 sacks in the first three weeks of the season.

Minnesota's rushing defense was a shell of its third overall ranking coming into the game, allowing Jordan Howard to run for 153 yards and a touchdown.

The Vikings are now 5-2 with back-to-back road losses entering a critical Week 9 home game against the 4-4 Detroit Lions.
