C) Both Leif Erikson statues, located in St. Paul and Duluth, were sculpted by the same man, John K. Daniels, a Norwegian immigrant who attended St. Paul's Mechanic Arts High School. Daniels, who died at the age of 102 in Minneapolis, based his Erikson statue in Duluth from a statue of the explorer erected in Boston in 1887.

Humphrey to be honored with statue on State Capitol Mall

It's taken nearly two decades of planning, but come Aug. 4 a bronze statue of former vice president, U.S. senator and Minneapolis mayor Hubert H. Humphrey will dedicated on the State Capitol Mall in St. Paul. Humphrey, frequently referred to as "The Happy Warrior," died in 1978 at age 66.
