Where to find Veterans Day deals this weekend

Saturday is Veterans Day and that means retailers and eateries across the land will be offering free and discounted deals to members of the U.S. military.

If you're a veteran or active military in Minnesota, GoMN has picked out some of the best freebies and discounts on offer for shoppers and diners.

Food and drink

All offers are valid on Saturday unless stated.

Red Robin: The burger venue has four Twin Cities locations and is offering a free double burger and bottomless steak fries to veterans.

Applebee's: The national restaurant chain has for the past 10 years offered a special menu for veterans and active-duty military on Veterans Day. 

Bakers Square: If you're looking for a free breakfast, you can get a choice of buttermilk pancakes, French toast or a Belgian waffle at Bakers Square's 13 Minnesota locations.

Buffalo Wild Wings: B-Dubs is offering a free small order of traditional or boneless wings with a side of fries.

Cantina Laredo: The Mall of America eatery is offering a free meal up to $20 in value.

Famous Dave's: Military diners can get a free two-meat combo meal.

Mystic Lake Casino: Free brunch and prime rib dinner buffets for those with a valid military ID.

Hy-Vee: Another free buffet offer, this one a free breakfast buffet for veterans at the growing grocery chain.

Little Caesars: A free lunch combo of four slices and a drink is available between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Fogo de Chao: 50 percent off meals for veterans Friday through Sunday – plus 10 percent off the meals of up to three guests.

Starbucks: Free tall cup of coffee for veterans and their spouses on Saturday.

Shopping

Offers valid on Saturday unless otherwise stated.

Bed Bath & Beyond: 25 percent off entire in-store purchases through Sunday.

Great Clips and Sports Clips: Many stores will offer free haircuts on Saturday.

Home Depot: A 10 percent discount for veterans, including for online orders.

Lowe's: A 10 percent discount on all purchases.

LIDS: 25 percent off online orders and 50 percent off custom embroidery in-store.

Target: 10 percent discount in-store and online not just for veterans and active military, but also their spouses and dependent children.

Toys R Us: 15 percent off in-store purchases with coupon and ID.

Walgreens: 20 percent off eligible regular-price items Saturday for all veterans, military and their families with Balance Rewards card.

World Market: 25 percent off in-store purchases through Sunday.

Outdoors

National Parks: Free admission for all at Voyageurs, Isle Royale, Badlands and all other National Parks across the country on Saturday and Sunday.

Minnesota Zoo: Veterans can get free admission, free parking and half-price admission for family members at the Minnesota Zoo until Jan. 1.
