Update: Missing White Bear Lake man found dead near Grand Marais

A missing 20-year-old White Bear Lake man has been found dead.

Police and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension had asked for the public's help finding Joshua Tyler Papenheim, 20, who was last seen by his roommate Wednesday, an alert issued Friday said.

On Saturday morning, the agency said the man was found dead near Grand Marais, but didn't give any other details.

Authorities said they were "very concerned for his welfare," noting he was in Beaver Bay along Lake Superior's North Shore Wednesday afternoon.

Officials asked homeowners on the North Shore to check their properties for signs that someone may have been sneaking in to seek shelter.

BringMeTheNews has reached out to the White Bear Lake Police Department for more information.
