A St. Paul woman charged with planning her husband's murder in hopes of collecting insurance money has pleaded not guilty.

KSTP reports Heather Horst entered the plea Tuesday. She is accused of recruiting her sister-in-law's fiancé to kill her husband, National Guard Sergeant Brandon Horst earlier this month. The criminal complaint against Heather Horst says she hoped to collect on two life insurance policies her husband held, including a $400,000 military plan.

Authorities say Brandon Horst was fatally shot while sleeping soon after midnight on August 5th. The alleged trigger man, Aaron Allen, also faces murder and conspiracy charges.
