Charges: Wife sought over husband's death stole money from his account

She withdrew $11,000 from his account.

The woman named a person of interest in the death of her husband in Dodge County has been charged with stealing from him.

Police are still looking for Lois Ann Riess, 56, who has been missing since the body of her husband, 54-year-old David Riess, was found at the Prairie Wax Worm Farm outside Blooming Prairie with multiple gunshot wounds last week.

Now a criminal complaint filed against Lois Riess reveals that over the past week she deposited checks from the Prairie Wax Worm Farm business account into her husband's personal account.

She then deposited checks from her husband's personal account into her own.

The complaint states that she made deposits of $10,000 from the Prairie Wax Worm account into her husband's, and then moved $11,000 into her own.

Her husband's debit card was also used over the weekend.

The banks didn't stop the deposits as both of the victim's accounts was with them, but noticed inconsistencies in the signatures upon later reviewing the checks.

Police say that Riess may be armed and the public should not approach her. She is known to frequent casinos.

She has been charged with one count of theft.
