A burglary suspect led police on a wild car chase in Anoka County early Wednesday afternoon, crashing into several cars and injuring three people in the process, before he was finally arrested.
Officers spotted the suspect vehicle and attempted to pull it over, but the driver sped away on northbound Hwy. 65, then drove west on Bunker Lake Boulevard through Ham Lake and into Andover.
At Hanson Boulevard, the vehicle rear-ended a pickup truck and then hit another vehicle head-on, causing minor injuries to a woman and infant who were inside, according to the sheriff's department.
The driver kept going and crashed into several police cars that were pursuing him.
"The suspect then began driving wildly across both lanes of Hanson Boulevard, onto the medians and shoulders of Hanson in an attempt to flee," the sheriff's department said.
After crashing into several squad cars that were trying to block his path, the suspect was finally stopped and arrested without incident.
The suspect is a 34-year old man from St. Francis. The Anoka County Attorney's Office will determine what charges may be brought against him.
This case is under investigation by the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, the Blaine Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol.
