The Minnesota Wild won its second straight game, beating the LA Kings 6-3 at the Xcel Energy Center.
The Wild grabbed the lead in the first period and never looked back against the struggling Kings.
Head Coach Bruce Boudreau told reporters in his post-game news conference that this game wasn't pretty, but he'll take the victory.
Among the scorers was Teemu Pulkkinen, the Finnish forward picked up by the Wild from Detroit, getting his first goal via a shot that snuck into the net after hitting a Kings player.
The Wild has now won two of its first three games to start the new NHL season.
Minnesota hosts the Toronto Maple Leafs Thursday then hits the road for back-to-back games against New Jersey and the NY Islanders in Brooklyn.
