A woman suffered injuries to her face after a wild turkey hit her car traveling south on I-35 in Freeborn County. The Pioneer Press reports 66-year-old Mary Haukoos of Bricelyn was transported to an Albert Lea hospital with non-life threatening injuries Monday night.

Pardoned turkey misses the memo

Gov. Mark Dayton was sending off Ted the turkey at the Capitol Friday when the free bird escaped from his wire cage and made a break for it. Ted was eventually apprehended and will travel to Washington D.C. next week for an official pardon from President Obama.
