There will be no Lake Harriet Winter Kite Festival this year.
The Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board says the free event is being called off because of unsafe ice conditions.
It had been scheduled for Jan. 16, and would've been the 14th annual iteration.
What would it have been?
Kites "of all shapes, sizes, colors and themes" were to be flown over the frozen Minneapolis lake, with Minnesota Kite Society experts there to show off and demonstrate different techniques.
You could bring your own kite, or buy an inexpensive one there.
There's a pretty stunning photo gallery on the Parks and Recreation website – click here to see it.
