Communities in western Wisconsin are coming to terms with the devastation caused by the tornado thought to have scythed through parts of the state.

Although yet to be official confirmed by the National Weather Service, WCCO estimates that the tornado cut a path 92 miles long Tuesday evening, damaging homes and bringing down power lines and trees as it progressed.

But the most significant damage was at the Prairie Lake Estate Mobile Home Park, where a 46-year-old man was killed and around two dozen more were injured as the twister flattened trailers.

According to the Barron County Sheriff's Office, the mobile home park contained 50-60 trailers and several of them were completely destroyed.

All residents have been accounted for, but 17 were taken to area hospitals with injuries and five to 10 more had minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

The sheriff's office says it'll continue to assess the damage at the trailer park and other parts of the county on Wednesday, having received several other reports of buildings brought down, trees felled and vehicles damaged.

Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald extended his thanks to emergency personal, the Red Cross, Salvation Army and a host of local residents and businesses for providing support to those who lost their homes in the storm.

More storms, possible tornadoes on Wednesday

This week's severe weather isn't finished yet. Minnesota and Wisconsin will get another dose of storms on Wednesday, with more isolated tornadoes a possibility.

The National Weather Service (NWS) says that in Minnesota, the southeast of the state has the highest risk of getting hit by severe storms, and there's a marginal risk that the Twin Cities will see some action too.

"Tornadoes will again be a threat, generally for points south and east of a Fairmont to Red Wing to Ladysmith (WI) line," the NWS says in its forecast discussion.

Expect heavy rain as well with the stronger storms, but there probably won't be enough to see a repeat of the flash flood warnings issued in several areas on Tuesday.
