Wolves hit a new low, blowing a 12-point lead with 2 minutes left

Another one slips away...

The Timberwolves were two minutes away from their first winning streak of the season on Saturday night.

After picking up a big win over the Chicago Bulls this week they picked up right where they left off leading by 12 points over a red-hot Houston Rockets team that had won nine straight coming into play.

Unfortunately – as the Wolves have done all season – they could not close it out and allowed Houston to go on a 14-2 run in the final 2:10 sending the game to overtime with the Wolves falling 111-109.

Although it's been a common theme this season, even the local beat reporters were in shock after the latest collapse.

Maybe what's more disappointing is that the team wasted an amazing performance from Karl-Anthony Towns who put up 41 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists.

He's just the second player in team history to put up those numbers.

With the loss the Wolves are 7-19 on the season and are back in action on Dec. 19 against the Phoenix Suns.
