Woman critically injured in double shooting dies in the hospital

A woman left critically injured in a double shooting in Minneapolis in the early hours of Monday has died, police say.

Minneapolis police confirmed in a press release that the woman who was found shot in a car just before 2 a.m. died Monday evening at Hennepin County Medical Center.

A man who was found with the woman in a car on the 2800 block of 15th Ave. S. was pronounced dead at the scene.

They were discovered by members of the Minneapolis PD Third Precinct who were on a routine patrol at the time.

Nobody has been arrested at this stage, and members of the public are being asked to help police as they investigate. Anyone with information could be eligible for a cash reward.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the identity of the deceased pair at a later time, along with the causes of their deaths.

Through October of this year, there have been 39 reported homicides in Minneapolis, according to the city’s Uniform Crime Report. At this time last year, there were 29 reported homicides, the report shows. In all of 2014, there were 32 homicides, fewer than the 40 reported in 2013.
