A woman died from an apparent drowning in a jacuzzi on Friday.
Hennepin County Sheriff's Office says the middle-aged woman was found unconscious in a hot tub at the Centre Village condo and apartment complex on the 400 block of 7th Street South, downtown Minneapolis.
First responders arrived around 11 p.m. and began resuscitation efforts, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Star Tribune reports the jacuzzi was in the workout area of the Centre Village building, and that there does not appear to be any signs of foul play.
Her identity will be released along with her cause of death by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The New York Times reported in 2009 that more than 800 deaths associated with hot tubs had been recorded in a 19 year period.
Nearly 90 percent of them were children under the age of 3.
