Woman found dead in an alley early Saturday morning

A woman was found dead in an alley this morning, Minneapolis Police reported.

The body was found at 1:20 a.m. after police were contacted and reported to the scene near 2200 Elliot Avenue South.

The identity along with the nature and cause of death have not yet been released.

There will be increased patrols in that area, and residents are encouraged to share information with the officers.

Police are asking anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or send an anonymous tip to CRIMES (274637) and begin message with: TIP674.

Information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a person could lead to a reward.
