Monticello teenager killed in head-on interstate crash near St. Cloud

A 19-year-old woman was killed and three others were injured in a head-on car crash near St. Cloud Saturday morning.

Megan Lehner of Monticello, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, died in the crash on Interstate 94 shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Lehner was riding in a Chrysler sedan being driven by Ashley Gieseke, 27, of Big Lake, when their car crossed from from westbound I-94 into the eastbound lane and struck a Ford van coming in the opposite direction, the Pioneer Press reports.

Gieseke was injured and was taken to St. Cloud hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Ford was Joseph Schramel, 43, of Belgrade, Minnesota. His 12-year-old daughter Elizabeth Schramel was a passenger. They suffered non life-threatening injuries and also were taken to St. Cloud Hospital.
