The Essentials

1. Columbia Heights police were called to a suspicious vehicle that had been left running in the 4200 block of 5th Street NE in the early hours of New Year's Day. In the back seat was a dead woman.

2. The victim is 29-year-old Linda Pa Vue, of St. Paul, who had suffered "significant injuries," but whose cause of death is yet to be determined.

3. She is believed to have been killed a mile-and-a-half away, in a house on the 5400 block of 5th Street NE in Fridley. On Tuesday evening, police arrested a man in connection with her death. He is custody awaiting charges.

What Else You Should Know

The arrested man, a "companion" of Pa Vue, owns the home where she was allegedly killed, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

He was driving along Interstate 694 near East River Road, not far from his home, on Tuesday evening when police stopped and arrested him.

His brother was in the car with him at the time he was stopped by police, and he has also been arrested on suspicion of aiding an offender.

GoMN does not name suspects until they have been charged with a crime.

It's being described as a "domestic killing," with police looking for anyone with information to call them on 763-427-1212.

It's the second homicide reported in Minnesota so far in 2018, with the other being an 18-year-old man from Big Lake who died on a north Minneapolis sidewalk after being stabbed in the shoulder and armpit.
