WWE banks on hot crowd in Minneapolis for Brock Lesnar's return
The last time Brock Lesnar appeared in Minneapolis, he was given a hero's welcome by fans who even booed his legendary opponent, The Undertaker.
On Monday at Target Center, Lesnar makes his return to WWE Raw after a two-month break since beating Randy Orton at Summer Slam.
Here's how Lesnar's return went last summer in Minneapolis, where he was cheered relentlessly without saying a word, before eating a Tombstone from the Undertaker.
His return comes a week after Goldberg, arguably the WCW's biggest star in the late 1990s, appeared in a WWE ring, responding to challenge from Lesnar's manager, Paul Heyman, to fight his "client."
What started off as a spat/publicity stunt to market the WWE's new computer game has turned into an expected match at the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view between Goldberg and Lesnar, an NCAA wrestling champion during his time at the University of Minnesota.
And by having Lesnar appear in Minneapolis – where he is expected to be cheered as the home-town favorite – Inquisitr.com suggests he will play the "face" (good guy) in the battle to Goldberg's heel.
Some tickets for Monday's show are still available, costing between $20 and $50. Click here to book.
Here's the one and only time that Goldberg and Lesnar faced off in the ring – this utter turkey of a match at WrestleMania 20.
