For the first time in more than two years, a WWE pay-per-view event is coming to the Twin Cities.
The Tables, Ladders and Chairs (aka TLC) event will be at the Target Center on Oct. 22, starting at 6:30 p.m., the arena announced Monday.
Advertised on the ticket so far: Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, The Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro, Bray Wyatt, The Hardy Boyz, and Alexa Bliss. That could change though.
According to Wikipedia, the last time Minnesota had a WWE PPV was in 2014 – an Elimination Chamber match at Target Center.
Here at GoMN we've got a few big WWE fans. One of them is Chaz Kangas (who you can also hear on Go 95.3 and Go 96.3). Check out Chaz's thoughts on the TLC Target Center announcement.
"Since the first TLC event in 2009, it's proven to be one of WWE's most consistently important events.
That inaugural one saw WWE mainstay Sheamus win his first WWE championship against John Cena. And, most notably, the 2012 installment featured current main event superstars Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns' first televised WWE matches. Last year's saw Ambrose come up short in a 30-minute TLC match against then-WWE champion AJ Styles in what many considered one of the top bouts of the year.
Traditionally, TLC has been a December, end-of-the-year-type pay-per-view. So this one being the first to happen in October might give the event a different vibe."
