This week, rapper/actor Yasiin Bey (f/k/a the mighty Mos Def) was granted permission to leave South Africa on the grounds that he never return, as he's been allegedly illegally living there for three years and using a controversial passport-alternative to enter the country. During his forced stay in the country, he's announced his retirement from the entertainment industry.

Now that he can return to the states, Billboard reports he's concluding his career with four final shows. First, a night at Harlem's Apollo Theater, followed by a three-night New Years' Eve residency at the Kennedy Center. Mos is reportedly going to perform songs from a different one of his albums each night, including the critically acclaimed Black on Both Sides, and the also-existing The New Danger, Tru3 Magic and The Ecstatic.

Also promising special surprise guests, we just want to hear him do his early Rawkus singles one more time.
