This is pretty straight forward Wolves faithful.
We don’t remember what it’s like to be a part of the NBA playoffs anymore, so in this continuing series, we’ll live vicariously through the 2003-04 Minnesota Timberwolves, most likely once a week.
This week, the beginning of a long winning streak 10 years ago today.
MINNESOTA 110, WASHINGTON 91: The Wolves began a two-game east coast trip with a blowout win over Gilbert Arenas, Larry Hughes, and the Wizards.
Kevin Garnett, Latrell Sprewell, and Sam Cassell combined for 69 points, while Gary Trent, in what would be his last year in the league, added 16, his third-highest point total of the year.
The win was the first in a string of six consecutive wins for the Wolves in a December they went 16-4.
As an aside, Trent's son, Gary Trent Jr., is a sophomore at Apple Valley High School and appeared on ESPN Thursday, putting up an impressive first half against Whitney Young High in ESPN's High School Showcase.
