A glittering array of celebrities will compete in a pre-Ryder Cup showcase at Hazeltine National next week, led by none other than "Caddyshack" star Bill Murray.

U.S. and European celebrities including Olympic swimming hero Michael Phelps, One Direction member Niall Horan, actors Kurt Russell and Rob Riggle, tennis legend Martina Navratilova and international soccer stars Andriy Shevchenko and Alessandro Del Piero are among those taking to the course in Chaska on Tuesday, according to RyderCup.com.

Murray, who is no stranger to Minnesota thanks to him being part-owner of the St. Paul Saints, is an avid golf fan. And this time he'll be playing, rather than resuming his "Caddyshack" role as Carl Spackler, the nemesis to gophers and the eater of a suspicious-looking Baby Ruth.

The 9-hole celebrity scramble will kick off the Ryder Cup week festivities, and will get underway at Hazeltine National from 2 p.m.

Those who have booked ground passes for Tuesday will be able to follow the action, as well as watch members of Team USA and Team Europe play their practice rounds.

Grounds passes are going for as little as $6 on Stubhub. You can buy them here.

To get to the course, you can either park at Canterbury Park in Shakopee and take the 30-minute free shuttle, or take a Southwest Transit bus from downtown Minneapolis, Chanhassen or Carver.

More details can be found here.

The Ryder Cup proper gets underway Friday and runs through Sunday.
