Four Minnesota Gopher standouts are headed to the NFL, after being chosen in the league's annual draft this weekend.
Tight end Maxx Williams was taken in the second round Friday by the Baltimore Ravens, and three others were picked in the later rounds on Saturday.
Linebacker Damien Wilson was taken by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round; running back David Cobb was chosen by the Titans early in the fifth round; and safety Cedric Thompson was chosen by the Miami Dolphins in the fifth round.
Cobb had a breakout year with the Gophers, setting a season record with 1,626 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns. Cobb had seven 100-yard games last season, the Star Tribune notes. He was named the team's MVP.
Wilson was the Gophers' leading tackler last season, and according to The Daily Gopher becomes the first Gophers linebacker to be drafted since Nate Triplett was taken by the Vikings in 2010.
