The sexiest nine innings of baseball in the major leagues was played Friday night at Target Field.
Bartolo Colon, AKA "Big Sexy," tossed a complete game in the Twins' 8-4 win over the Rangers for his first win since signing with the Twins in July. The 44-year-old right-hander allowed three runs on eight hits and five strikeouts.
It was Colon's longest outing the season and his first complete game since Sept. 5, 2015, when he pitched a complete game shutout against the Marlins as a member of the Mets.
Colon gave up two runs in the first, one in the second and then fired zero after zero before finally giving up a solo homer with two outs in the ninth.
The Twins scored four runs in the first inning to give Colon the lead and they never looked back. Brian Dozier homered twice. See those blasts here.
Miguel Sano left the game after getting hit by a pitch in the hand. He's OK.
