For most sports fans, the Super Bowl is about the game. For others, it's about the party and, most importantly, the food.

If you're looking to throw together a couple of appetizers for a big-game gathering this weekend without spending a lot of time or money, we've put together five easy recipes with five ingredients or less that won't have you slaving away in the kitchen.

BBQ Chicken Nachos (from Real Simple)

Ingredients

-half a 12- to 14-ounce bag tortilla chips

-2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (substitute your favorite shredded cheese if you'd like)

-1 1/2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken

-1/3 cup barbecue sauce

-4 scallions, thinly sliced

Directions

Heat oven to 450 degrees. On a foil-lined rimmed baking sheet, layer the chips, cheese and chicken. Bake about 3-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Top with barbecue sauce and scallions.

Mini Crescent Dogs (from Pillsbury)

Ingredients

-2 eight-ounce cans of Pillsbury refrigerated crescent dinner rolls

-2 fourteen-ounce packages of cocktail-size smoked link sausages or hot dogs

Directions

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Unroll both cans of the dough and separate into 16 triangles. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 narrow triangles. Place sausage on shortest side of each triangle. Roll up each, starting at shortest side of triangle and rolling to opposite point; place point side down on two ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake 12 -15 minutes or until golden brown, switching position of cookie sheets halfway through baking. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Serve warm.

You can dress these up in two ways:

Dip dogs in store-bought honey mustard sauce or make chili crescent dogs by topping with 1 or 2 cans of no bean chili and shredded cheddar cheese.

Mini Pepperoni Pizza Pockets (from Fox News)

-Pre-made pizza dough

-1/2 cup pizza sauce (plus extra for serving)

-1/2 cup ricotta cheese

-1/2 cup mozzarella cheese

-1/4 cup pepperoni, chopped (note: substitute your favorite pizza topping)

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Separate dough into eight tennis ball-sized mounds (making more or less depending on how much pizza dough you have).

Roll each mound out flat until it’s about ¼ of an inch thick. Top one side of the dough with 1 tablespoon pizza sauce, 1 tablespoon ricotta, 1 tablespoon mozzarella, and a sprinkle of pepperoni. Fold the dough over and crease to seal it, cut a slit into the top of the dough to allow air to escape.

Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until the tops are golden brown. Serve with extra pizza sauce or marinara for dipping.
