A naked man in a box had to walk around Uptown because of fantasy football

Many fantasy football leagues dole out special punishments for the loser – and on Friday some Minnesotans got to witness one man's public shaming.

He appeared to be nude – wearing just a cardboard box that read "fantasy football loser" with an arrow pointing up as he strolled through Uptown during Friday evening's commute.

Tony Rillo, the commissioner of the league, told BringMeTheNews the man – identified only by his team name, "Sammi's First Love," after a failed high school relationship – wasn't allowed to participate in league activities until he had gone through with the punishment.

He walked from Lyndale Avenue and Lake Street to Rudolphs Bar-B-Que – about a mile away, Rillo said.

Sammi's First Love says his only regret is "not doing push-ups prior to the walk," Rillo told BringMeTheNews.

Deadspin featured several photos of the walk of shame, and others who caught a glimpse tweeted about it.

Throughout last year's season, the league implemented a rule where the team with the lowest points each week had to post a video of themselves dumping beer on their head, Rillo told BringMeTheNews. Sammi's First Love had the lowest points for six weeks.
