Adrian Peterson has a not-so-subtle message to Christian Ponder: Throw me the ball.

Peterson told the Pioneer Press that there’s a “misconception” that he can’t catch passes, which he says is false.

The NFL MVP says Brett Favre once included Viking running backs in the offense, and he’d like to see Ponder follow suit.

In the two seasons with Favre leading the offense, Peterson had 436 and 341 receiving yards. Last season he had 217 yards, according to NFL.com.

Peterson made his comments Wednesday during the second day of Organized Team Activities this week. He also said that he's "100 percent" four months after sports hernia surgery.
