Adrian Peterson was noncommittal about playing again this season when talking with the media Wednesday afternoon.

The 31-year-old running back said he suffered a "couple of nicks" in his first game back from a knee injury on Sunday, and when asked if he's playing Saturday at Green Bay he wouldn't commit to an answer one way or another.

"Just taking it one day at a time," he said, via Vikings Periscope."Resting up, like I say, just came up with a couple nicks. Just taking it one day at a time to see how I feel."

Peterson, who has a knee and groin injury on the official injury report, was pressed further but he didn't break from his "one day at a time" answer.

"I'm focusing on making sure my body is completely healthy. Trying to get back out there as soon as possible."

Peterson, along with Stefon Diggs, Harrison Smith, Laquon Treadwell and Brandon Fusco, did not practice Wednesday.

What about 2017?

If Peterson doesn't play again this season, he'll enter the offseason with even more questions about his future in Minnesota. He's due to make $18 million in 2017, but most analysts don't think the Vikings will honor that number. Will he renegotiate if asked?

"I'm not really going to get into contract talk," Peterson said.

And the former MVP doesn't think he has anything to prove to the Vikings.

"I don't know. I wouldn't think so. I've been here for 10 years. I think I've done some okay things," he said. "You'd have to ask the other side that question. I really don't feel like I have anything to prove."
