Allen: NFL sack record 'absolutely' reachable

It sounds like Jared Allen is ready to chase NFL history again.

He’s not making any predictions, but he tells USA Today's Tom Pellissero that Michael Strahan’s sack record is “absolutely reachable.”

Two years ago, Allen was one sack short of breaking Strahan’s record of 22.5 sacks, finishing with 22.

Allen -- who is coming off knee and shoulder surgeries -- says he feels the best he has in years: "I don't buy into '30 and you're old,'" said Allen, 31. "I feel it's just like anything — it's geared towards how you take care of your body, how you mentally prepare for the game."
