Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is going to break the NFL's single-season rushing record of 2,105 yards, set by Eric Dickerson.

How? Because he said so.

Good enough for us.

Peterson, appearing on Dan Patrick's national radio show Wednesday morning, was asked if the former L.A. Rams star should be nervous.

AP's reply: "I think so."

Later in the morning, Peterson was named the NFC offensive player of the week for his performance against Chicago Sunday. Just another day at the office:

For the record, with three games to go, Peterson is 400 yards shy of the 2,000 mark and 505 yards short of Dickerson's record, set in 1984.

Dickerson? He was great:

Peterson? Maybe greater:
