We can finally put the Arroyo-to-Twins rumors to bed

This offseason has been filled with rumors surrounding starting pitching and the Minnesota Twins, some of them coming to fruition, some of them going by the wayside.

Former Boston Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Bronson Arroyo is a man that has been linked to the Twins all offseason, but Friday word came down that you can officially put the Arroyo rumors in the latter column.

Arroyo, about to turn 36-years-old, has won double-digit games in eight of his past 10 seasons on the mound, finishing 12th in NL Cy Young voting in 2011 with Cincinnati.

With the solid-not-spectacular veteran off the market, the attention of Twins fans hopeful that the club signs another starting pitcher will be turned to two-time AL Cy Young winner Johan Santana, who won both awards as a member of the Twins during his eight years in Minnesota.

Last time we heard talks were ongoing between Twins management and representatives of Santana's, and in case you were looking for breaking news on that front, there is none, sorry.
