Augustus' buzzer-beater helps Lynx cure Fever for 10th straight win

The Minnesota Lynx won their 10th straight game on Tuesday night as they pulled out a late victory in Indiana 66-64 over the Fever.

Seimone Augustus tipped in the bucket at the buzzer off a miss from Lindsay Whalen to give the Lynx the victory. It was one of two big rebounds for Augustus in the game's closing seconds.

Things got a little interesting down the stretch for Minnesota. Rebekkah Brunson turned the ball over with just :44 to play and the score tied at 64.

But Indiana's Briann January missed an 18-foot jumper that would have given the Fever the lead, and Augustus collected the board.

After a timeout, Whalen's shot to win didn't go with less than a second to play and that's when Augustus tipped in the game-winner.

She led the Lynx with 18 points on 9 of 12 shooting and she also had five rebounds. Maya Moore, who earlier in the day was named the WNBA's Western Conference Player of the Month for July, added 15.

It wasn't the sharpest of nights for the Lynx. They had to battle from the start, and trailed by 15 at one point. As a team, the Lynx were just 1 of 11 from the three-point line.

But Minnesota made the plays when they had to and rallied down the stretch to pull out the dramatic win.

The Lynx will host Chicago on Thursday night.
