Austin High School's Oman Oman took on the form of a quarterback and launched a one-handed, full-court shot that found nothing but the bottom of the net to give Austin an improbable 57-56 victory over Northfield (4-1) on Tuesday night.

According to the Austin Daily Herald, Austin head coach Kris Fadness compared Oman's heave to the Hail Mary touchdown Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw to beat the Lions last week. As irony would have it, Austin High School's nickname is also the Packers.

Here's a look at the shot from the student section.

“It was just a reaction," Oman told the Austin Daily Herald. "I just got the ball and I threw it up. Luckily it went in."

Austin (4-0) has been one of the top teams in Class 3A (Minnesota's second largest class in basketball) the last handful of years. They went 14-13 a year ago, but reached the State Tournament each of the previous three years – losing twice to DeLaSalle in the state championship game in 2013 and 2014.

ESPN gave Austin and Oman some love, too.

Oman Oman is now immediately placed in a category of memorable names – for his name and crazy shot – with the likes of former Rochester John Marshall turned Oklahoma Sooner star, Longar Longar.
