Fallen Miami Marlins ace Jose Fernandez who was killed in a tragic boating accident on Sept. 25 had his autopsy released on Saturday.

Fernandez was intoxicated at the time of the accident. The autopsy showed the fallen Marlins ace had a blood alcohol level of .147 which is nearly twice the amount above Florida's .08 limit for drunk driving.

Traces of cocaine were also found in his bloodstream according to the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's Office.

Earlier this week, the Miami Herald reported that investigators said the three recovered bodies all smelled of alcohol.

The 24-year-old Fernandez and two other men – Jesus Macias, 27 and Eduardo Rivero, 25 – were also killed when Fernandez's boat slammed into a jetty near the South Beach district.

There is still not word on who was driving the boat when it crashed but all three men had alcohol in their systems. Cocaine was also found in Rivero's autopsy but not in Marcias'.

The fallen ace of the Marlins was a two-time All Star and the 2013 National League Rookie of the Year.

After undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2014, the right-hander was returning back to form in 2016 with a 16-8 record and a 2.86 ERA.
