There was speculation that the 35-year-old would play in Chicago after the Vikings waived him and quarterback Jay Cutler suffered a fractured thumb. McNabb told ESPN in Chicago that he expected his hometown team to call. The Bears lost five straight, but beat the Vikings to close out the season.
