The high school football regular season rounded the half-way mark this week with some decisive victories by some of the state's top teams. Here's a look at some of the key games:
Bemidji corrected its first-half mistakes to take control of its contest with Brainerd and win 21-7. Three of the Lumberjacks four wins this year have come on the road.
Eden Prairie tightened its grip on the number one spot in the 5A rankings. The Eagles exploded early for five first-quarter touchdowns in a 56-7 rout of Hopkins.
Speaking of five touchdowns, that's what Marshall running back Beau Bofferding has scored in each of the last two weeks. He led the Tigers to a big 44-6 beating of 4th-ranked Jackson County Central in a Class 2A showdown.
The South Suburban conference also featured a meeting of undefeated, ranked teams. In this one, Lakeville North dropped four TDs on the previously stingy Rosemount defense, winning 28-7.
In Fridley, Totino-Grace defended its home field with a 30-13 beating of Mahtomedi.
And Hutchinson traveled to Waconia and stuffed the Wildcats, winning 31-2.
