Berrios wins first Major League game as Twins beat Astros

Minnesota Twins 6

Houston Astros 2

The Minnesota Twins snapped their four-game losing streak as they beat the Houston Astros 6-2 to open a three-game series in Houston.

1. Big night for Berrios

Highly-touted Twins rookie Jose Berrios (1-1) picked up his first Major League win on Monday night. He tossed 5.1 innings, while striking out eight. He held the Astros to two runs, while pitching around five walks.

2. Patience pays off

Twins hitters have been criticized this season for striking out too much and not being patient at the plate. However, on Monday night going up against reigning Cy Young Award winner Dallas Keuchel (2-4) Twins hitters drew five walks.

Including three alone in the three-run fourth inning.

3. Dozier gets going

It probably was no coincidence that on Brian Dozier's second three-hit game of the season, the Twins also picked up their second road victory.

Dozier was 3-for-5 with two runs scored.

Tweet of the Night:

Twins catcher John Ryan Murphy was tossed out of the game for arguing balls and strikes with home plate umpire Jerry Layne. Kurt Suzuki replaced him.
