Big Chill? Twins to open 2013 season at Target Field

As the Twins wrap up the 2012 season, the team announced details of the 2013 schedule today. Among the highlights, Johan Santana’s return to Minnesota as the Mets come to Target Field in April. The Twins will also open the season at home for the first time since the new ballpark opened in 2010.

The Major League Baseball schedule-makers apparently don't mind the prospect of playing in a little snow.

For the first time since Target Field opened in 2010, the Minnesota Twins will startthe 2013 campaign with a home series, April 1-4 against the Detroit Tigers.

It's also a year when Interleague play across MLB spreads out across the entire season. As a result, the Twins will host the New York Mets (and Johan Santana) and Miami Marilns in April.
