Bjugstad earns WCHA weekly award

Gophers junior forward Nick Bjugstad was named the WCHA Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two game-winning goals against Michigan State last weekend. It's the second time in his career that he's won the award.

For the second consecutive week, two Golden Gophers have earned WCHA awards. The conference named Kyle Rau its rookie of the week -- the third time he's won the award. Nate Schmidt was named co-defensive player of the week.

Bjugstad injury isn't serious, expects to play at World Junior Championships

Gophers' forward Nick Bjugstad says his undisclosed injury isn't serious and he expects to play for Team USA at the World Junior Championships. Bjugstad sustained an injury December 10th at Michigan Tech. He says he is day-to-day but will play in the third exhibition game Friday and "definitely be ready" for the opening game of the World Junior Championships December 26.
