The Minnesota Wild's new bench boss, Bruce Boudreau joined KFAN radio on Thursday to give his two-cents on how well Eric Staal will fit in for the Wild and who he'll be paired with entering this season.
Boudreau said Staal will center a line with Zach Parise and Charlie Coyle – two players who each scored 20-plus goals last season. He believes Staal's skill set fits with a hard-working Parise and a big physical forward like Coyle.
"He's going to start off with Zach (Parise), and probably Charlie Coyle," said Boudreau. "Eric and Charlie are big men. Zach works harder than anybody around. I think it's going to be a highly successful line."
Staal signed a three-year deal last month and fills a much needed gap at center. The 31-year-old is coming off his worst season since his rookie year, producing just 41 points.
